10 Deserts Project COVID-19 update

April 10, 2020

The 10 Deserts Project (10DP) team are constantly assessing the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the implementation of our project activities.

During this difficult time, as we try to navigate the impact the virus has on our day to day lives, our focus remains on supporting traditional owners and minimising the impact of COVID-19 on their health and wellbeing.  This ongoing situation means that that there will be significant impacts to our 2020 work plans, including the work done by our project partners.

Like many other organisations, we have implemented alternative working arrangements with all of our project staff working from home and we have cancelled all non-essential travel. This is to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Our priority is to keep our desert communities safe, and we remain committed to delivering our goals of healthy country, healthy people and building a strong Indigenous voice for the desert.

We look forward to working with the BHP Foundation, our project partners and Indigenous rangers to reschedule our work when restrictions are lifted, and be back on-country as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

In the meantime, contact relevant 10DP project staff to discuss further or you can send us a message via the contact us page.
